Meet Arnaldo Bomnin

Arnaldo Bomnin and The American Dream.

Arnaldo Bomnin's journey of achieving the American Dream began when he decided to emigrate from Cuba in 1996 with only a gold watch and three gold rings to his name. He has come a long way from reaching the US with no money to his name and not speaking any English, to becoming the owner of Bomnin Automotive Group. The group comprises thirteen franchises under eight rooftops, all located in Miami, except one dealership in Virginia:

Arnaldo's pursuit of the American Dream began when he made the courageous decision to leave his home in Cuba, leaving behind family and a successful career as a medical doctor. Undeterred, Arnaldo started working in landscaping and selling lobster on the streets of Miami. One day, while selling lobster at a Miami dealership, the General Manager noticed Arnaldo's extraordinary sales skills and offered him a life-changing opportunity as a sales associate. From that moment, Arnaldo's story became one of success and prosperity. He quickly became the salesperson of the month, holding the title for 15 consecutive months and exceeding the dealership's goals month after month.

In August of 2000, Arnaldo was promoted to Sales Manager at a Chevrolet dealership in Miami, FL, and promoted to General Sales Manager in 2005. By 2007, he found himself in a leadership position as the General Manager of a Chevrolet store. It was during this time that the country entered the Great Recession, the longest recession since World War II. While others might have panicked, Arnaldo saw an opportunity and decided to make his boldest move yet. In 2010, Arnaldo tirelessly worked towards realizing his ultimate dream: owning his own car dealership.

After years of excellence in his career and a track record of success, Chevrolet recognized Arnaldo's potential, and On November 10, 2010, Arnaldo Bomnin acquired a dealership formerly known as Kendall Chevrolet. The small, outdated dealership, selling about 76 vehicles per month, underwent a remarkable transformation under Arnaldo's leadership. The dealership reopened as Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland in November of 2013, celebrating the grand opening of a brand-new 39,000 square-foot facility in the heart of Miami.

Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland achieved extraordinary success, becoming the #1 Chevrolet dealership in the Southeast Region of the United States for multiple years (2016–2020, 2022), ranking #2 in the United States during 2021 and 2022, and #4 during 2023. The Dadeland store consistently ranks among the top 5 volume Chevrolet dealerships nationally and has earned the prestigious Chevrolet Dealer of the Year Award ten consecutive years from 2014 to 2023.

On November 30th, 2016, Arnaldo acquired Grand Prize Chevrolet in Miami, Florida, a dealership selling 230 vehicles per month at the time. Renamed Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall, the dealership sold an impressive 356 vehicles in its very first month in business. The West Kendall dealership went on to become one of the largest new vehicle retailers in Florida and consistently ranks among the top 5 Chevrolet volume dealers nationally. During 2021, it surpassed Bomnin Dadeland to become the #1 Chevrolet dealer in the world, an incredible feat considering its proximity to the Dadeland location. Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall ranked #2 nationally in 2023. The West Kendall dealership has earned the Chevrolet Dealer of the Year Award for seven consecutive years from 2017 to 2023.

In 2018, Arnaldo seized another opportunity, this time in the Mid-Atlantic region. On April 10th, 2018, he acquired a Chevrolet dealership and opened for business in the Washington D.C. metro market as Bomnin Chevrolet Manassas. Bringing unparalleled work ethic, customer care, and success to the capital, the Manassas dealership quickly became the largest Chevrolet dealership in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. It ranked #30 in the nation and earned Chevrolet's coveted Mark of Excellence award in 2019.

Continuing with Bomnin's vision of expansion, Arnaldo acquired his fourth dealership overall and third in South Florida in October 2019. The acquisition of what would become Bomnin Cadillac Chevrolet Homestead marked the completion of the "Bomnin Triangle," with Dadeland and West Kendall Chevrolet stores just a few miles away. Bomnin Cadillac Chevrolet Homestead in Homestead, FL is Bomnin’s first dual Cadillac and Chevrolet dealership.

While 2020 started with promise, with the February addition of a Mitsubishi dealership on its West Kendall campus, it soon became one of the most uncertain periods in recent American and global history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, Arnaldo remained steadfast and grounded in his commitment to providing gainful employment to all Bomnin Automotive associates.

Remaining committed to excellence and growth, Arnaldo added his seventh franchise with the acquisition of a Volvo dealership in November 2020. While outsiders might have been surprised, it came as no surprise to the Bomnin Automotive team when Bomnin Volvo took off during 2021, its first full year in business. That year it finished as the largest volume Volvo dealer in the country and has held the #1 position nearly every month since its opening. Bomnin Volvo has been the highest volume Volvo dealer in the US every year since 2021.

During December 2023, Arnaldo acquired the dealerships now known as Bomnin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Doral and Bomnin Alfa Romeo Fiat Doral. Operating for less than a full month, the dealership ended December as a top 20 CDJR dealer. As of mid-January 2024, the Doral location is nationally ranked as a top 3 volume CDJR dealer.

Arnaldo has long had a vision of giving back to South Florida and the Miami-Dade metro market that embraced him many years ago. He has fulfilled many of his heart's desires by giving back to several local charitable organizations. Arnaldo takes immense pride in working side by side with the 800+ associates employed by Bomnin Automotive Group. Whether it's helping residents of communities find gainful and meaningful employment or donating a vehicle to a local family in need, Arnaldo finds nothing more rewarding than being a pillar of the community.
